-How did you become hair and makeup artist and what is your favorite thing about this job?
I always knew that I would be hair and makeup artist cause my family had a beauty salon in Ukraine and all my childhood I used to spent there, watching people creating magic...so my parents werenβt surprised when at the age of 15 I decided to go to study makeup and hair. I would say that my favorite thing about my job is the opportunity to travel and work with talented people.
-What inspires you?
Definitely people who I work with.
-What is your favorite makeup trend of the past or present?
I really like the tendency of natural, glowing makeup which is popular now.
-Which makeup trend do you think should disappear and never be used again?
I would say βKardashianβsβ kind of makeup which all young girls are crazy about. My opinion that everyone should find a makeup that emphasizes his individuality.
-How long in advance should book an appointment with you?
If everyone could book an appointment with me 2 weeks in advance that would be perfect, but I always try to find time for my clients no matter how busy I am.
-How long does it take to create a full look versus just hair or just makeup?
Depends on details but usually it takes me 45min to 1hour to create a full look.
-What does your usual work day look like?
Itβs very individual because some of my clients prefer I stay with them for retouching and one shooting can last from 3-15 hours. (The longest shooting I had was for 19 hours). But almost every day I wake up super early cause most of shootings begin at 6-7 am.
-What was the favorite person/look youβve ever created?
I really enjoy doing artistic makeup, I would say that one of the favorite look Iβve created was for my book, when I was working with different colors and textures.
-If you could create a look for any person from the past or present, who would you pick and why?
I would love to work with Natalia Vodianova, she is very inspiring for me and I know that she is demanding about makeup artists so that would be a good challenge
